Learning & training · 2025–26
A year of learning, one classroom at a time
Since 1 September 2025, our community centre has run a full weekly timetable of English, employment and life-skills sessions — free, local, and built around what our community actually asked for.
The numbers so far
275 learners, one timetable
Running from September 2025 through to July 2026, our learning programme is built around three main strands.
What’s on the timetable
English, IT, and a lot more besides
Our core ESOL classes remain the backbone of the programme, with grammar practice, conversation sessions and weekly current-affairs discussion built in alongside the language teaching. Around that sits a wider offer that’s grown directly out of requests from the people who use our centre:
- ✓ Weekly ESOL and English grammar practice
- ✓ IT training and basic digital skills
- ✓ Employment support and interview preparation
- ✓ Theory and practical driving practice
- ✓ Fire, health & safety, home safety, safeguarding and road safety training
- ✓ Weekly current-affairs and conversation sessions
It’s a lot to fit into one week — but that’s exactly the point. For many of our learners, this is the only structured English or employment support available to them locally.

Help us do more of this in 2026
Whether it’s an hour a week volunteering, a donation, or simply spreading the word — every bit helps us keep our doors open on Chesterton Road.
